Pulse Health Screening is run by Registered Nurse, Sue Bedford.

Sue qualified in 1980 and worked in a variety of specialities in both NHS and private hospitals in London over the following years. In 1987, she moved to Bedford and took a 10 year career break to raise her four children.

Sue undertook a Return to Nursing course in 1998, initially working in the Outpatients department at Bedford Hospital in the Gastro-Intestinal, Colo-Rectal and Breast Clinics. Her passion for health screening and health promotion came about when she took up a Practice Nurse post, which also led to her interest in cardiovascular health.

Sue left the surgery in 2002 to do medicals on a freelance basis for insurance companies. She also completed a diploma course in nutrition. This gave her the opportunity to set up a website called Healthy Choices offering nutrition & lifestyle advice along with a range of toxin-free, personal care and household products.

When Sue heard about a new artery screening device in early 2005, she realised this would be an ideal tool to check for early signs of cardiovascular disease. After an article about the device appeared in the national newspapers, she was soon booking tests locally.

This led to Sue setting up
Pulse Health Screening, to offer health assessments and a wide range of tests and services in the Beds, Bucks and Herts area, most of which are unavailable in the NHS. These are available to both individuals and companies.
